Pathway World Missions
& Local Outreach
|
At
Pathway, it is our conviction that we share a responsibility
to demonstrate a spiritual fervency that transforms
the world around
us. This
is the spirit that birthed our church almost ten years ago.
We were born out of an evangelistic thrust!
Therefore,
we are diligent and deliberate about creating a
church climate that emphasizes the importance of
leading others,
both locally and globally, to Christ.
By encouraging an environment
for soul-winning, we believe that we are fulfilling
our duty as
Christians committed to the command that Jesus gave
us when he
said in Matthew 28:18 “…go and make disciples of
all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the
Son, and the Holy
Spirit.” Whether
it is involvement in outreach here in the
Bangor
area or involvement in and support of ministries abroad,
we feel
obligated to reach unchurched people for Christ!
Our
emphasis on community outreach fleshes out in events
such as: lemonade/hot chocolate handouts, fall
cleanup and winter
shoveling, movie outreaches, Christmas float
projects, seasonal
drama productions, and Baby/Friend Sundays.
A volunteer team of
people is also committed to a visitation ministry
called Operation
Andrew where new attendees of Pathway are welcomed by
a home
visit.
Our emphasis on overseas missions is exemplified in our
annual
Missions Convention in March, our monthly mission’s
moments on
Sunday mornings, and our strategic financial
faith-promise
commitment to several overseas missionaries.
