What
do you think of when you think of church?
|
Pathway Wesleyan Church prides itself in being an inviting community
of Christian believers that is authentic and serious about its
commitment to Christ. For many, it is a safe-haven providing a
protected environment for people to share burdens, seek answers, and
gain strength. There’s an unusual and unique sense of
unpretentiousness at Pathway. People “come as they are” and are
encouraged to leave their “masks” at the door.
At Pathway, you’ll sense a deep focus on community. We’re a tight
bunch. We come from different walks of life. Some are older, some are
younger. Some are educated, some are not. Some are Democrats.
Some are Republicans. Still, in our diversity, we share a common goal to
celebrate this and unite together as one. We work hard at doing and
emphasizing that.
As a young church established less than a decade
ago, there is a
fresh and vibrant expectancy at Pathway for what God is doing in our
midst. We’re not sure what the future holds, but there is an
anticipation here that seeks God’s direction for what our next steps
are. We’re not a church that looks backward. We’re a church looking,
pressing, and pushing forward.
In this process, we recognize it is essential that we remain a
culturally relevant, but not morally-compromising church. We work hard
at establishing bridges to our geographical community and hopefully, in
that process, we are breaking down some of the false pretences that
many unchurched people have about what it means to have a
relationship with Jesus Christ.
